What speeds are your aftermarket converters stalling at? My stock one seems to flash stall between 2200 and 2500 rpm.

The stall speed will be determined by torque output.
You can request a certain stall but chances are no torque converter company will be able to nail down a specific rpm.

I realize that stall speed has a direct relation to the torque the engine makes. I guess a better question is what does your converter in your truck flash stall at while driving. I am looking for something in the 1600-1800 range, compared to mine at 2300-2400rpm with the stock one.

Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]You don't want 1600, my Suncoast SD42 only went to 1600-1700 with stock injectors, BB turbo and extreme programing, not nearly enough. I feel 2000 rpms would be about optimal.

I still think the one that David sells at Diesel Innovations that has a billet cover for the 7.3 but made from the dodge guts is a really good idea. That may just be in the range you are looking for, and it is way stouter than the stock 7.3 converter. I've seen the guts of both side by side. No comparison- the dodge design is far superior.
