I'm thinking of doing a RSK on my 1997 F350. I heard sky makes the best one. For the 3" kit do I need 2 do anything for the back so it sits level?? Also should I get new shocks for it? And can i keep my stock rims? And what size tire can I get? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks

Personally I'm going to go with the PMF reverse shackle when I do mine.

This link has a lot of info on them. They seem to have a better fit than SKY and take into account other mods like intercoolers. The link is about an F250 D60 swap, but the reverse shackle info applies just as well to F350s.

Edi: I see this site doesn't allow links to the "competition" PSD sites. PM me if you want the link.

The PMF kit does look pretty nice, but the SKY kits are good too. With either kit, I think it would be worth paying a little extra for the powder coating. I didn't and wish I would have...

You should sit pretty much level with the 3" RSK and your 4" rear blocks. I ended up going with 5" blocks so my truck has a little rake.

You can run 35" tires, but you'll need to shim the front bumper out a bit or cut the bottom corner off as it will rub. I have mine spaced about 3/4" and I still run making tight turns and going up a curb.

Thanks for the replys. I was reading up on the PMF kit and from what i read, this kit allows you to use the SD springs on it with out cutting off the bumper brackets and rewelding it?? Is that right??

Does both kits just bolt on? And where would you buy the SD springs from? Also should I change the rear springs also?

They are both pretty much bolt on, but some chose to also weld the front RSK spring hangers to the frame.
The SKY SD kit requires removing & replacing the rear spring perches so a little more work is involved. I think he did this to try to address the positive caster issue caused by the old design.
From what I've read over on PSN, the PMF kit is easier to install.

You can order new springs from a dealer, find them at a local salvage yard, and they are often posted in the classifies on the different truck forums. You'll want U, V, or X code. U's are the softest, X the most firm.
You don't have to replace the rear springs...

Ok and for shocks what brand do people use? For the front do I need to get one for a 3" lift?

Sorry about all the question but what kind of offset do I need for the rims? And for the shocks i would need one for a 3" lift?

PMF has a 4.5" RSK that im gunna get. Would i need the X code springs 2 fit 37" tires?? And if so what springs would i need in the rear 2 get it leveled??

Thanks
