I did it with mine but there is modifications involved. You have to use some of your old base and some of the new base to do it. Some welding involved. It's been a few yrs since I did it and I remember it took a lot of thinking to accomplish it. Some of the side plastic pieces will be a challenge also.
When you get done, the seat will sit a few inches higher also.

Thanks for the heads up.... Did you do it for same reason of wanting to use your existing power base? Cause don't the newer bases bolt right up?

Actually, I did it for new seats. I lost the power seat feature, but I'm not worried about that. My old seats were shot and I got two brand new ones from an ambulance conversion. Here's a couple of pics of base and seats.

Not sure about swapping new seat to old base, but in theory if you get complete seat and base out of an 09 the 4 main bolts should bolt right in for all years 99 and up. In fact the front seats can even be bolted in back. Plus I believe if you find an 09 with power package the passenger will be power as well. Now the wiring harness will be a seperate issue I believe might have different connectors so you will have to do some cutting and splicing.

Wouldn't the seat base bolt pattern be the same from 1997-2013? I would think 1992-1996 have their own bolt pattern.

 

I've never heard of the passenger seat being power in 09+...... Can anyone confirm that who has one?

I put seats out of a 09 bolts right up. I had to change to seat belt buckles and splice two wires,real easy..

 

Yeah I'm pretty sure 92-96 would be different seat base. I guess it never really was stated what year we were talking about putting these seats into?

I couldn't tell exactly. I just picked up a 1997 Airstream B190 which is basically a 1997 Ford E350 extended van and I'd like to upgrade it to some of the 2009 and newer stuff. Thanks for your help. There are some newer seats on eBay but they're a little pricey. I will look at picking some up this fall.

 

OK now I'm paying a little more attention. I saw this post first in "unread" on my mobile app so didn't even realize we were in a E series forum. I thought we were talking about 09 super duty seat to an earlier super duty pick up. Completely different.

Looks like their mainly pushing helm chairs for boats now but they are combination of to of the major aftermarket truck seat companies (seats n stuff and broughm back in the day.) The Reatta (top left seat) is very comfortable and looks quite a bit better in leather. You just tell them seat style, what options you want, and what it is going into and you'll get all the parts and pieces to bolt in.

 

Along the same lines ---- but I have a 2001 12 passenger van with no rear bench seats--what years would work for me to look for seats??
