The sticker on your door jamb lists the front axle Gross Vehicle Weight Rating....mine is 5900lbs and I have the plow package springs.

Looking at the 2011 Order Guide it shows that you could possibly have the heavier springs depending on what the truck has for a couple other features.

If your truck has 17" or 18" tires then the Axle ratios were either 3.31 or 3.55.
However, in the order guide it showed if your truck was to have the 3.55 ratio with the 17 or 18" tires then the truck required one of the following options listed below.

I checked before i left work and nope looks like i'm smoking sausage! 5000 lb front axle 17 " wheels 331axle bummer I guess the good news is i wont be beating the snot out of my front end. thanks

 

I had a set of 5,200# in my front end. I swapped them out for the 6000# springs, for the same reason- so I could plow. The only things that are added/changed to plow prep vehicles are heavier springs, and either the "extra heavy duty Altenator, or dual altenators. The axles and everything else is identicle. Easy swap. Order them from Tascaparts.com cost +10% $83.04 a piece. This TSB lists the spring codes and part numbers. If you order them from Tasca just don't enter your VIN on the order page, or they will assume you ordered the wrong part.

The ones you want are the set that end in ACC, those are the 6000# springs

Also- read the TSB and what it's about, probably wouldn't be hard to convince them that you "need" the springs because your "getting a banging, clunking noise in cold weather" it's the right time of year for it- the fix would be to install the 2-up springs in your truck. If you have the AEC- springs already, then the ACC springs would be the ones they'd install for you according to the TSB. good luck.

 

what is the spring difference in the snow plow prep vs the heavy duty suspension.

 

You'd have to find a truck with the heavy duty suspension and get the code off of the front springs- there are only a few different ones. Probably the same as plow prep

 

my truck has goofy spec's I have the optional HD alternator so I guess all I need to do is change the springs and I would in affect have the plow pkg? why the truck has that and not a plow pack is weird Isn't this a cheap option? they wacked me 75.00 for the alternator rder:

 

Has anyone else confirmed that the springs for the snow plow package are 5C3Z*5310*CA? My parts department references them as part of package 473 (Snow Plow Package) on a 13. I want to upgrade on my '12. Just a little gun shy since they messed up my other order! Thanks.

The ACC springs are the plow springs. Another option- go to a dealer and find a truck with the plow prep and read the tag on the springs in that one. The tag is easy to see and read.

 

I went to the parts counter two weeks after I bought my 13 F350. Ordered the F450 #7000 coils. No regrets rides much better all around for me and it raised the nose 1".

 

Good to know.. When I had my 07 F250, it had the 5,200 spring an no plow prep package. Back then, the plow prep package with Ford was Roof markers, different fan clutch and stiffer springs.

I changed out the fan clutch and had the 6,000s put on. I honestly couldn't tell a difference in ride quality without the plow on so I believe exactly what you said about not noticing a difference between the 6 and 7k springs.
